It is also one of the few places on earth where whale sharks are known to congregate to mate. The area is protected, so only snorkelling is allowed, and visitors must pay a fee with all profits going towards the Baa Atoll Conservation Fund.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The island of Koh Tao is an idyllic paradise of white sand beaches fringed with palm trees, rugged hills and stunning sunsets, famous for learning to scuba dive, making it a great dive holiday destination for all experience levels. Whale sharks are also known to frequent the area around Koh Tao, particularly at famous sites such as Chumphon Pinnacles, Sail Rock, South West Pinnacle, Hin Wong Pinnacle and Shark Island.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Back in Indonesia, a population of whale sharks was recently discovered in Saleh Bay in Sumbawa. These whale sharks are best visited on a \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.zubludiving.com\u002Fs\u002Fliveaboards\u002Findonesia\u002Fnusa-tenggara\u002Fkomodo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">liveaboard cruise sailing between Bali to Komodo\u003C\u002Fa>, or vice versa, although some liveaboards sailing out of Labuan Bajo and back also visit the bay.\u003C\u002Fp>",{"type":180,"text":256},"\u003Cp>Whale sharks also migrate through the waters of Southern Leyte, Philippines, from November through May, with certain locations such as Sogod Bay being exceptional for sightings. Leyte is yet to be fully discovered by the dive industry, and as such offers peaceful, uncrowded waters.
